near death...

Yesterday was the big Busch Gardens with Carl and Tim fun day. It was so incredibly hot...that I nearly passed out while standing in line for my favorite ride - Apollo's Chariot. I was just standing there next to Jim and all of the sudden I felt lightheaded and dizzy...I closed my eyes thinking I'll just wait for it to pass...but when I opened them everything was dark...not like completely black...but everything was tinted...the world seemed to be spinning...and lights were flashing...I could barely stand...I was leaning against the handrail to keep myself up. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I began to panic...my throat seized up and I became short of breath. Jim asked me if I was all right and I fell into him...saying no over and over. Jim rushed me out of line down the single riders' entrance and didn't stop until I was standing partially inside at the door to the nearest ice cream parlor...You know how they have that cold air blowing really hard at the entrances. He bought two bottles of water...and led me to a nice bit of shade to sit in. And we just sat while we waited for Tim and Carl to get off the ride. I drank a whole bottle of water before my breathing returned to normal. At first I felt like I had to struggle to get it down...I sat with my head on his shoulder...and he gave me his bottle of water too, telling me not to drink too fast or I'll make myself sick. But I ended up being ok for the rest of the day.


Otherwise the day was good.

We saw Imaginique, which was slightly different than last year.

Afterwards we went back to Carl's grandma's house. We ate cake and went in the pool - something we were all looking forward to all day whilst out in the heat, I think...only to decide that it was too cold...and not stay in the water all that long.
